Meet Philippa
Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Wellbeing Practitioner, Workshop Facilitator
With a background in psychotherapy and the humanities, I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, well-being practitioner, workshop facilitator and self-taught artist. I have 25 years of experience in the therapeutic field within the voluntary, public and private sectors.
In a rapidly changing world that has given way to significant transitions on a collective and personal level, I became aware of a deep isolation and an increasing need for individuals to experience a deeper sense of connection to themselves, others and their environment.
The idea of offering group support and well-being workshops/courses had originated from benefiting greatly from my own personal and professional experience in a group setting; as a psychotherapist, artist and as a parent.
What I aim to give in any workshop/group session is an experience that will enable individuals to respond to ourselves and others in a more constructive way, allowing us to live more creative, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
My work integrates holding a safe space to listen, to encourage expression in varying forms, therapeutic interventions, creative visualisation and the teaching of meditation techniques. I am also interested in working with the Transpersonal; an exploration of Spiritual development- whatever this may mean to you.
I also love music and singing, and am currently learning the harmonium with a view to co-facilitating Kirtan (devotional chanting) sessions.
