Meet Daniela
Yoga Teacher
My journey to yoga teaching has been both unexpected and felt totally natural at the same time. I went to my first yoga class as a teenager have been practising ever since. My practise became increasingly important to me as I progressed in my career in the corporate world. Getting on to the yoga mat always brought me back home to myself, little moments in my week where I remembered who I really was and what I needed, physically and mentally. I listened on the mat in a way I did not in my day to day life. The more I practised the more fascinated I became as to how and why yoga could make this happen and I felt this deep yearning to know more.
I enrolled on my yoga teacher training and what began as personal exploration has completely changed my life. I would never have imagined stepping into that first yoga class as a teenager that I would one day be privileged enough to be teaching yoga to others. I wasn’t then, and am still not, the most flexible person in the room! But, as I have learned, yoga is so much more than this. Through the exploration of physical postures we can learn so much about what is really going on within: some days that may be the need to deeply stretch out our muscles, some days it may be noticing just how deeply tired we are and nudging us to take more rest.
I feel truly honoured to be in a position now to be able to guide others. I am passionate about helping everyone see that yoga can be for them and beneficial for both the body and the mind. For me, it’s not about how flexible you are or how good you are at arm balancing (although yoga is amazing for this of course) but about helping to create a nurturing space for you to take some time for you: to move in a way that feels good and empowering you to listen to what your body wants to tell you, because this is truly your greatest teacher.
