A message from Jo…

I’m a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist. After many years practicing, studying and teaching yoga I found myself drawn to bringing hands-on touch into my work. I’ve trained in the northern-style of Thai Massage and in northern Thailand, massage is an integral part of community life. I’m excited to be joining the Ochre House collective and sharing this amazing healing art.
Recently I attending Yoga Camp, an annual gathering of teachers, therapists and yoga enthusiasts. Attending classes and workshops, it struck me how similar themes were emerging through different people’s teachings and I’m sure this was not planned. It reminded me of how powerfully we are affected by the community we surround ourselves with. There is a subtle exchange of ideas and energy that ripple into our lives. I’m looking forward to giving and receiving as part of the Ochre House community.

Thai Yoga massage and yoga share the same philosophy – that we are all part of an ‘inter-dependent field’. On an energetic level all separation is an illusion.
My Summer read, ‘There are Rivers in the Sky’ by Elif Shafak, reflects this idea. The story, spanning different centuries and continents, follows the lives of three people whose are all touched by the same drop of water.
