Meet Ruth
Counsellor, Psychotherapist
I am a warm, compassionate therapist supporting clients through creative, relational, and trauma-informed approaches. I work one to one with children, young people and adults offering a safe, non-judgmental space for healing and growth.
Alongside my private practice, I work an NHS Mother and Baby Unit as a specialist in parental and perinatal mental health. Here, I support families navigating complex mental health challenges, including fathers and partners during times of acute crisis. I’m deeply committed to helping the whole family move through difficulty with strength, understanding, and connection.
As well as seeking support for current life challenges, many of the clients I work with come to therapy to explore how their early experiences, continue to shape their present day living, family dynamics, and relationship patterns. Together, we gently unpack what’s been carried over time offering space to process, heal, and reconnect with your sense of self.
My integrative approach brings together attachment theory, psychoanalytic thinking, neuroscience, and the expressive power of play and art therapy. With a background in the arts, I often weave creativity into the therapeutic process to help make sense of what can be hard to put into words.
Whether you’re facing current challenges or looking to understand yourself more deeply, you will be warmly welcomed. Please get in touch for an initial conversation.
I am a qualified Integrative Child, Adolescent and Adult Counsellor (PgDip, BACP), and I am in the final stages of completing my training as a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist (MA, UKCP).
