Meet Rachael
Person Centred Counsellor
I have always been passionate about wellbeing in all its forms and following a rewarding career in project management and consultancy, I found myself being drawn to counselling and wanting to find my place in the world helping others. As part of this journey, I started and continue, to work with vulnerable adults in mental health recovery work, providing practical and emotional support to individuals with complex and traumatic histories. I also have experience in grief counselling and offer pre-bereavement and bereavement counselling to family and friends of patients receiving hospice care. These diverse, multifaceted and nuanced lines of work are inherently aligned with my work as a person-centred counsellor.
The person-centred approach trusts that we are doing the best we can with what is available to us, and that we all have the capacity for change and growth when offered a safe environment where we are valued, understood and empowered – and this is what I strive to offer in my counselling practice. Sometimes we just need some support, someone to share our worries with, someone to help us explore our feelings, make sense of things, and come to our own solutions in our own time.
I believe being truly heard and accepted for who we are, without judgement and with authenticity is a precious experience that we all deserve, and that has the power to make a profound difference in our lives. My hope is to be your faithful companion on your therapeutic journey, supporting you in your process, whatever this means for you.
